First ever Adivasi Mahasabha in Tripura 2021 - Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, GoI graced the occasion.


First ever Adivasi Mahasbha has been organized in Tripura by All Adivasi Students’ Association of Tripura (AASAT) in collaboration with Bir Birsa Kanhu organizing Committee on 28th November, 2021 at Belcherra High School, Khowai District. The theme of first ever Mahasabha was “Education is the movement from darkness to light”. Shri Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Union Minister, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI along with Shri Mevar Kumar Jamatia, Hon’ble Minister, Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura have graced this occasion. Besides, Shri Joydep Debbarma, Hon’ble Zilla Sabhadhipati, Khowai District, Shri Prasanta Debbarma, Hon’ble MLA, Shri Sushil Pahan, Ex- Director, Khadi and Village Commission, Govt. of India, Shri Satya Narayan Munda, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Ranchi University, Shri Juel Ekka, Principal, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Founder of ASSAT and delegates from other states were also present during this auspicious programme.

1.      What is advertising? What does it seek to convey?

Ans:- Advertising refers to the promotion of goods, services, companies and ideas through a medium, usually by an identified sponsored or agent.

It seeks to convey a specific message about a thing or idea.

 

2.      What are the stages involved in guerrilla promotions?

Ans:- The stages involved in guerilla promotion are:-

a.       Staged encounter in public places.

b.      Giveaway of products such as cars that are covered with brand messages.

c.       Interactive promotion where the viewer can give a respond.

3.      What is political advertising?

Ans:- Political advertising is one of the means by which political parties, candidates and other socially active, groups reached out to people, especially during the time of election.

Ans:-There should regulation on advertising so that there is nothing good or bad about advertising as such. There should be effort by the government to protect public interest by regulating the content and the reach of advertising.

Ans:-Commercial advertising is primarily to promote products and services. It cann be done through billboard, printed flyer, magazines, newspaper, T.V channel, web banners etc.

2.      What is social advertising? What kind of messages does it advertise?

Ans:- It is an advertising technique which is used to promote commercial goods and services to inform, educate and motivate the public.

It can include messages of faith, compassion, services, charity towards the needy, health, education etc.

3.      What are the objectives of advertising?

Ans:-The objectives of advertising are:-

                                                                          i.      Communicate information about a particular product, services or band.

                                                                        ii.      Persuade people to buy the product

                                                                      iii.      Keep the organization in public eye.

4.      What are the techniques used by the advertisers to attract customers?

Ans:-

                                                                          i.      Repetition: To make people remember the brand name through repetition.


                                                                        ii.      Bandwagon: Advertiser tries to convince buyers to get on the bandwagon or miss out.


                                                                      iii.      Testimonials: To promote the product through the recommendations of actual users or both.


                                                                      iv.      Pressure: To make people choose quickly and without long consideration.


                                                                        v.      Appeal to Emotion: Appeals to sensibilities are often used by charitable organization.

Ans:- The social responsibility of the media are:-

2.      ‘Journalist should be able to operate with impartiality’. What do you understand by this statement?

Ans:- This statement means that journalist should operate with autonomy, which means the freedom to act according to one’s conscience and professional judgment. He/she must be accountability in his/her duties. He/she must not be dependent on political parties or business houses. Otherwise their loyalty and accountability will be towards these parties and not towards the public. Which will therefore hampers the media responsibility towards the society.

 

3.      What do you think will be the role of the media in an undemocratic country?

Ans: The role of media in an undemocratic society are as follows:-

i.      The media will be puppets in hands of the government.

ii.    Media would not show the true picture of the happenings.

iii.  There would be corruption.

iv.  The government would live the media for their favors.

v.    The media would create sensationalism and unrest among everyone else’s.

vi.  People may not have the right to express their public.
